I am excited to report that we will be launching our pilot training program July 18th, 2016 with a dozen amazing and motivate healthcare providers! Three months of leading edge dying, death, grief, and self-care that will begin the wave of change “we can die better” within our existing healthcare system!
Nicole Koch and I have created an amazing series of learning tools to support each and every student. These learning tools are unique to each module and will ensure that our learners can apply the knowledge and information immediately and successfully to their work environment. The weekly mentoring calls will provide the necessary support for students to get through their own grief and loss, and train them to help others to do the same.
Once the pilot program is complete September 15th, we will take in all the learning experiences you have had and review the program from start to finish. These final tweaks will be put in place, the website and online learning systems given once last checkup and we will officially launch the Alive in Death Training Program on a national level. The launch date is on October 19, 2016.
We are also putting the finishing touches on the Mentors Resource Centre that will provide you, the graduate of Alive in Death, with an opportunity to mentor others and earn income in doing so. Your mentorship will be an important ingredient in the success of students who follow you.
Throughout the summer months our small, dedicated staff will be connecting with nursing associations, teaching colleges and universities, care facilities, and healthcare providers to make them aware of our training program and its value to their employees primarily and ultimately to the patient or resident’s experience.
We are committed to changing the ways we deal with dying and death from coast to coast – We Can Die Better!
