I speak with and work with many people and have done so intimately over the past thirty years. I am a student of people – I pay attention and notice.
During this pandemic I have been watching myself and those I love and support work their way through this ‘death’ we call corvid-19. An in a very real way I see many people letting go of things that no longer served them. I see people letting go of a relationship they knew years ago no longer served them. I see people glad their job is gone ‘cause they wanted to quit last year. I see people letting go of old beliefs they had about themselves. I see people letting go of long-held emotions.
It is as if this covid-19 virus is actually helpful.
Yes, I know this is an odd way to look at it all. And it doesn’t change the fact that people are dying and the virus is causing untold difficulties world wide – absolutely. And in another very really way it seems to be waking some of us up to the shit in our lives we would like to see die.
Could it be that the ‘medicine’ of corvid-19 is actually helping some people heal and let of what no longer serves them?
Could it be that the reminder we are all mortal and have a finite time to live actually be inspiring some of us to come alive?
Could it be that we have made a mistake in looking at death as any enemy?
In my estimation and experience the answer to all three is an unquestionable yes.
